Pada pertemuan pertama, kita sudah membahas beberapa contoh ungkapan offering help.            
Pada pertemuan kali ini kita akan membahas lebih lanjut  pengertian dari offering help,social function dan struktur nya.

Pengertian  offering help
Offering Service/Help is a polite way to offer service/help to others. (Offering Service/Help digunakan untuk menawarkan jasa atau bantuan kepada orang lain.)

Social function of offering help
Social function of offering help or service to other is maintain interpersonal relationship with others by offering help or service. (offering help digunakan untuk memelihara hubungan interpersonal dengan orang lain dengan cara menawarkan bantuan/jasa).

To offer help or or service, we usually use the following expressions and response.

      Offering help
        Accepting help
Refusing/Declining help
·         May I help you ?
·         Can I help you
·         Would you like me to do something ?
·         Do you want me to repair you computer ?
·         Let me help you
·         Can I give you a hand ?
·         I’ll do it for you.
·         Need some help ?
·         What if I help you ?

Structure of offering help
Read the dialog below
Ajeng   : May I help you ?                                                                   → Offering help
Ika       : Yes, I need encyclopedia.                                                     → Respon


Ajeng   : Oh, there are many encyclopedias that we have.

              Let me show you, then you can choose what you want.      → Offering help
Ika       : Thank you                                                                              → Respon

Situation : In the bank
Hani         : Hy Mirna, I want to send my money to my parents in Yogyakarta. But I don't know 
                  where is the bank.
Mirna     : I know the place of the bank. May I help you go to the bank?
Hani       : Wow, that's good idea.
Mirna     : Let's go to the bank, now !

 In the bank...
Mirna     : Excuse me, sir.
Security : Yes, may I help you ?
Mirna    : My friend want to send her money for her parents.
Security : Okay, follow me to meet the customer service.
One minutes ago...
Security                 : Good afternoon miss, they need your help.
Customer service   : Do you need any help ?
Hani                       : Of course, i want to send my money to my parents.
Customer service   : We have a form to complete the registration, fill the registration please.
Hani                       : Okay, here you are.
Customer service   : Thanks we will send your money to Yogyakarta.
Hani                       : Thanks miss, that's very kind of you.
Customer service   : Okay hani, you are welcome

The definition of caption Caption is   a brief description, heading or title that  identifies or introduces a document, graphic,  photograph or table.(Caption adalah gambaran singkat, tajuk atau judul yang mengdentifikasi atau memperkenalkan suatu dokumen.)
