What is a procedure text ?
Procedure text is a text that gives us instruction how to do something and how to make something.
The purpose/social function of procedure text is to explain the reader or listener about how to do something or how to make something.
Generic structure of procedure text :
1. Goal/Title ---- the purpose of the procedure
2. Materials or ingredients ---- Things are needed to make something
3. Steps or directions ----
The language feature of procedure texts are sequential steps, command verbs and adverbs
If we talk about procedure text is meant that we talk about imperative sentence and adverb
1. What is an imperative sentence ?
A type of sentence that gives us instructions or expresses a request or command.
How to make Imperative /Cara membuat Imperative Sentence
1. An imperative sentence typically begins with the base form of a verb
Kalimat imperative ditulis dengan awalan kata kerja dasar (base form of verb)
Example : combine the flour, put in sugar
2. An imperative sentence ends with a period or an exclamation point.
Setiap kalimat imperative biasanya diakhir dengan tanda seru (!).
Example: preheat the oven! , turn on the lamp !

2. What are adverbs ?
Adverbs are the words that we use to give information about a verb.
There are some adverbs that we usually use in procedure texts
1. Adverb of Manner. It describes in which manner an action is done.
for example: slowly (dengan pelan), smoothly (lancar), carefully (dengan hati-hati)
2. Adverb of Place. It describes where an action is done.
for example: in the plastic bag, into the bowl
3. Adverb of Time. It describes when an action is done.
for example: for two minutes, in the morning
4. Adverb of Frequency. It shows many times an action is done.
for example : often, sometimes gradually
